In Reflect, an absence period is considered short when its duration is strictly less than 5 days. A period of exactly 5 days is therefore not short.
This rule identifies short absences in the unplanned absence measures:
Short unplanned absence count: counts short unplanned periods.
Short unplanned absence ratio: shows the share of short periods among unplanned absence periods.
Short unplanned absence total: adds the days counted for those absences.
The classification is based on the duration of the absence period, which can include weekend days and fractions of a day. The total days measure counts only Monday to Friday, including public holidays. To compare your results with your HR software, check the absence periods, their duration and whether they are classified as planned or unplanned.
