Understanding salary per employee

Understand how multiple contracts affect employee-level salary analyses in Reflect.

Written by Reflect Team

For employee-level salary analyses, Reflect combines salary data valid on the date considered, in euros. If an employee has several simultaneous contracts with a valid salary, their amounts are combined.

How does this affect the figures?

For example, at the end of the selected period, an employee has two contracts with annualized theoretical salaries of €24,000 and €16,000 respectively. The display currency is set to euros. Their total salary at employee level is €40,000 per year.

If this employee is included in the HR headcount at the end of the period, this amount is included in Median salary (€), which uses one total salary per employee.

What should I check if an amount looks unexpected?

Check the analysis date, salary validity dates and amounts, and their currency in the source data. Successive contracts are not added up across their entire history: only salaries valid on the date considered contribute to the amount.

This is annualized theoretical salary, not total payroll actually paid over a period. Available values depend on the data imported and how it is normalized.
