Understanding the “Recruitment durations” rule

Understand which application durations are included in Reflect.

Written by Reflect Team

For application durations, Reflect retains values from 0 to 200 days inclusive. A duration below 0 or above 200 days is treated as not provided.

The rule applies in particular to the time between the start of an application and a stage such as an interview, offer or hire, as well as durations between stages. It does not apply to time to fill a job.

What is the effect on the figures?

An excluded duration does not contribute to the average for that duration. For example, if two applications have time-to-hire values of 40 and 201 days, the resulting average is 40 days: the 201-day duration is excluded. The rule excludes the duration, not the application itself.

What should I check if figures differ?

Compare the dates of the relevant stages in your recruitment tool and in Reflect. Also check the period and filters used for your comparison. Missing dates can also result in an unavailable duration.

To organise your checks, consult the Data Acceptance Testing Guide (Recruitment).
