Leave without reliable dates: effect on the Egapro Index

Understand how leave periods are reconstructed and how this affects Egapro Index results.

Written by Reflect Team

When the data sent to Reflect does not provide reliable leave dates, Reflect reconstructs a maternity or adoption leave period for the Egapro Index from monthly data. The resulting dates are estimates: they can change the year in which the return is counted and the results related to raises during or after leave.

When does a month extend the leave?

After a month recognized as maternity or adoption leave, Reflect can include a subsequent month containing parental leave in the same period. The month extends the period if its total maternity, adoption and parental leave exceeds 15 days. The check is repeated for subsequent months.

In the month the employee leaves the company, the month can also extend the period if that total is at least the number of calendar days from the start of the month to the day before departure. For example, if the departure is on the 10th, the threshold is 9 days.

This reconstruction does not provide the actual leave dates. A month containing maternity or adoption leave may be recognized as such even if it does not reach the continuation threshold.

What should you check if the result differs?

Compare the leave and the days sent each month with your source software, then check how the absence reasons are classified in absence normalization. If the result is still unexpected after the data update, contact your Reflect representative with the person, months and indicator concerned.
