For the Egapro index, Reflect identifies maternity and adoption leaves and their end dates. This information is used, in particular, to count employees returning from leave and those who received a raise.
Which leaves are included?
A leave classified as Maternity is included if the employee’s recorded gender is female.
A leave classified as Adoption is included regardless of the employee’s recorded gender.
Parental leave following maternity or adoption leave can extend the period considered. Other types of absence do not extend it. Reflect may group absences separated by a short interval.
For example, for an employee whose recorded gender is female and whose absences are recognized with reliable dates, maternity leave ends on December 31, 2025, followed by parental leave through February 28, 2026. The return date is March 1, 2026. If their contract does not end before that date and they are included in the HR headcount for at least one day of that fiscal year, they are counted in Number of employees returned from maternity leave for the fiscal year of that return, subject to the selected scope and filters.
What should you check if the result is unexpected?
Check absence dates and categories in your HR system, the employee’s gender and the Type of absence (Egapro) normalization in Reflect. Also check how parental leave is classified. If the source does not provide reliable dates, Reflect reconstructs the period from monthly data, so the dates used may differ from the actual dates.
To prepare your report and check its data, see The Egapro index. If the discrepancy remains after the data is updated, contact your Reflect representative with the employee, dates and metric concerned.
