Introduction to acquisitions and disposals
When your company buys or sells a legal entity, your HR software often keeps the full history of its employees. Without any setting, these employees show up in your headcount before the purchase or after the sale.
The Acquisition / Disposal page lets you declare these dates. Your metrics then only keep the period during which the entity was part of your company.
💡 This page is restricted to Admin users. See the Access Roles and Scopes guide.
Effect of an acquisition date
Employees in the entity on that date count as an arrival on that day. Their earlier history is not taken into account.
Employees who left the entity before that date no longer appear in your metrics.
Later hires are unchanged.
Effect of a disposal date
Employees in the entity on that date count as a departure on that day, with a departure reason dedicated to the disposal. They are no longer part of the headcount from the next day.
Data after the disposal date is no longer taken into account.
Compensation and absences
Compensation: payroll before the acquisition date is not counted. For a disposal, the month containing the disposal date is still counted; payroll no longer appears from the following month.
Absences: only the absence days within the kept period are counted.
Example
Your company bought Reflect Industrie Nord on March 1, 2025, then sold Reflect Industrie Sud on June 30, 2026. The dates are set on the Lucca rows, the HRIS that supplies the employees.
An employee of Reflect Industrie Nord hired in 2019 counts as an arrival on 01/03/2025. Their years with the previous owner are not included in your metrics.
An employee of Reflect Industrie Sud still present on 30/06/2026 counts as a departure on that day, with the disposal reason. Their June 2026 payroll is still counted; July’s is not.
How does it work?
Declare a date
Open Data management → Acquisition / Disposal, or go directly to the Acquisition / Disposal page.
In Organizational dimension, check the dimension holding your legal entities. Use Search to find a source or mapped value.
Click Edit dates, then pick a date in the calendar of the Acquisition date or Disposal date column.
The counter at the top left shows how many dates you changed. Click Save, or Cancel to discard your changes.
⚠️ The same entity appears on one row per source (Source column), and a date only applies to the employees of that source. Set it on the row of each software that supplies your employees, for example your HRIS and your payroll. A date on the row of a recruiting software has no effect on headcount.
Change or remove a date
In edit mode, click the ✕ in a field to clear its date, or pick another date. Then click Save.
An entity can have both an acquisition date and a disposal date. The disposal date must then be after the acquisition date; otherwise, Reflect shows “The disposal date must be after the acquisition date”.
If the page says no legal entity was found, your entity values will appear once your data has been synced.
Metrics update
Metrics take your dates into account at the next data update, including history. Saving does not recompute analyses immediately.
